Well, here we go! It’s been a long 5 months of planning, posting, blogging, door knocking and putting up signs. The best part of this experience for me has been meeting so many wonderful members of the Deptford community. In each neighborhood I walked, there were countless people who shared my vision for change. That is uplifting! Now it’s time to vote and get to work. I’ve asked myself countless times, how do I go about implementing this push for positive change once I am on the board? How do I encourage the other board members to buy into my ideas? It occurred to me that it may not be as difficult as I once thought. Why? Because I have the backing of all of those who voted for me and supported me. I will be your voice. My passion for education and learning is undeniable. I will advocate for your children and mine. We will create a learning community that brings out the best in every child. I will show them that we can hold the line on taxes and make academic strides at the same time. We need to make sure our tax dollars are going to the classrooms, our teachers have the tools to reach all learners and our children have the supports in place to learn! Most importantly, we need to implement a plan that allows for open and easy communication with parents, teachers, administrators and board members. We as board members need to be aware of what is happening in our classrooms and understand the mandates from the state. We don’t need to micro-manage but we do need to follow-up and follow through. This will be the first goal on our road to greatness. I look forward to working hand in hand with this fabulous community and together we will do great things! So, 24 hours from now…we will know….all of the nagging to SHARE will be finished. (I know my FB friends will be so sad-NOT) The signs will need to come down and I will rest knowing I have given everything I have to ensure I am worthy of your vote! I am eternally grateful for the support and encouragement of so many. I am so excited for what’s to come! Thank you so much! VOTE-UPPER RIGHT SIDE OF THE BALLOT- STACY L.GRAY- 2nd ON THE LIST OF BOE CANDIDATES-YOU CAN VOTE FOR JUST ONE, OR TWO, OR THREE :) SEE YOU AT THE POLLS!

Good luck tomorrow!!!!!!!! It will be good to have another woman on the board, especially a teacher! I def hope for good news tomorrow. You fought a good fight!!! :)
How is the “order” picked on the ballot- how did you get the second column?
It is randomly chosen in a “pull from the hat” kind of way. It was drawn in August. Joe Wilson is first, I am 2nd, Mickey Messner is 3rd and Mark Getsinger is 4th. I am very happy being number 2. You figure some people go 1,2,3! Thank you for the support and good wishes. I feel very confident but am already a nervous wreck!!!!! Excited too :)
Voted for JUST you! And shared your blog today on FB & hoped I reached some other concerned parents in Deptford. Thank you so much for all the time you dedicated to this, I’m crossing fingers & toes!
Thank you so much for that comment! It truly means a lot and I am confident the hard work will pay off :)
Both my wife and I voted for only one board member (position #2, naturally). I hope that our votes put you over the top.
Thank you so much! Waiting game now. I will update the blog as soon as I know!!
I hope you win. we need new people to focus on the kids and not politcal gains. I just heard our former board president that resigned in june was just interviewed for the supervisior of buildings and grounds.
